Generally, ticks attach from below and crawl up. They don’t jump, fly or fall from trees; they crawl along the ground or vegetation until they find a good place to attach.<\/p>\n
Repellents that contain DEET are not 100% effective in protecting us against tick bites. DEET only repels ticks in areas where they might bite, and that protection doesn’t last long. In contrast, permethrin does kill ticks on contact, providing long-lasting protection.<\/p>\n
